Berlinale Party
This is the fifth year that I am producing Finnish party at Berlin International Film Festival. This year is a bit different, of course, as I am no longer working at the Finnish Film Foundation. But co-operation with everyone there has run so smoothly, it almost feels like I am still there. The other change this year is that party is jointly organised by Visit Finland, and that means that I get to work with their partner Kelkkaprojekti, who are true professionals in organising beautiful events.
I love to do industry events. It is always great fun to plan something that brings a bit of extra for everyone. Of course, Finnish party at Berlinale is a great networking opportunity, but it has always been also great fun. And fun to work on. And this year has been no exception, as I have been visiting Kelkka office in Punavuori to hear about the wonderful decoration plans. Kelkkaprojekti is determined to create a Finnish summer evening in Berlin. Not the easiest thing to do in the middle of downcast, wintry Berlin. But they have their ways. I am so much looking forward to seeing the decor in place, sauna and all.
This year we are again doing the party at Kesselhaus. I miss our old venue - the church - but it is much easier to work with the professional crew at Kesselhaus. This year we also have a programme. We are screening The Moonshiners by Juho Kuosmanen. Accomppanied by live foley wizard Heikki Kossi and Yksipihlajan Kino-orkesteri. Can't wait.
I am sure this will be another party to remember.
